Richard E. Carmichael is currently a professor in the adult business program at Gardner-Webb University. He previously served as the Alex Lee Professor of Business at Lenoir-Rhyne College and as a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Graduate School of Business. In addition, he has over 25 years of experience in business and the federal government. He has held executive positions with First Interstate Bank of California, Bank of America and Manufacturers Hanover Corp. He also has over ten years experience as a senior manager with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the U.S. Small Business Administration. He has a BS in Economics a MBA in Financial Management and a Ph.D. in Business Administration.
